Cyber Safety Module Now Live for 3rd–6th Class

Introducing the Cyber Safety Module

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Cyber Safety module, now available as an additional resource within the Digital Skills Curriculum for 3rd to 6th class students. This module equips young learners with the essential knowledge and skills to engage confidently and responsibly in the digital world.

Designed with age-appropriate content, the module addresses a comprehensive range of critical topics: establishing and maintaining strong passwords, the importance of never sharing login credentials, recognising stranger danger in online environments, safeguarding personal information, identifying and avoiding scams and phishing attempts, understanding the concept and implications of a digital footprint, and—particularly relevant for this age group—practising safe behaviours while using popular gaming platforms such as Roblox and Minecraft. Through structured lessons, interactive quizzes, real-world scenarios, and reflective challenges, students develop practical strategies for safe and ethical online participation. Teachers have full access to detailed lesson plans, teaching guides, and supporting resources, seamlessly integrating into classroom routines. The Importance of Cyber Safety Education

In an increasingly digital society, primary school children regularly interact with online platforms for learning, communication, creativity, and entertainment. While these opportunities offer significant benefits, they also introduce potential risks, including exposure to inappropriate content, unsafe interactions, privacy breaches, and deceptive practices.

The Cyber Safety module directly addresses these challenges by covering foundational practices such as password security and privacy protection, strategies for recognising and responding to stranger danger in digital spaces, awareness of scams, management of one's digital footprint to support positive online presence, and specific guidelines for safe engagement on gaming platforms like Roblox and Minecraft—including privacy settings, reporting mechanisms, and respectful community interactions. By building these competencies, the module empowers students to make informed decisions, protect their well-being, and contribute responsibly to digital communities—preparing them for safe, effective participation in a connected future.

Key Learning Outcomes for Students

Through participation in the Cyber Safety module, students will develop a strong foundation in digital responsibility. They will learn to:

  • Create and maintain robust passwords to enhance account security.
  • Understand the risks associated with sharing personal credentials and apply best practices to protect them.
  • Identify indicators of stranger danger in online communications and know appropriate response protocols, including reporting to a trusted adult.
  • Recognise what constitutes personal information and implement strategies to keep it private.
  • Detect common scam tactics and phishing attempts, enabling them to respond critically and avoid deception.
  • Comprehend the lasting nature of a digital footprint and make thoughtful choices about their online actions and contributions.
  • Apply platform-specific safety measures when using games such as Roblox and Minecraft, including managing privacy settings, interacting respectfully, and utilising reporting tools to maintain a secure environment.

These outcomes foster not only personal safety but also critical thinking, ethical awareness, and empathy in digital contexts—valuable life skills that extend well beyond the classroom.
